More Tasks

Hello! This is me again!

On Monday, 27th of April 6th E is working with the "European Portfolio of Languages" and on Tuesday, 28th, it is 6th C.

Pay attention to this message:  Next Sunday, 3rd May, it's Mother's day! You can start thinking of writing messages for your mother as you did for your fahter. On that weekend I'm going to be in Lisbon in "Congresso dos Professores Portugueses de Inglês", but I'm going to carry my portable computer and I'll publish the messages. Is it all right?
By the way I can buy some short stories in "Congresso", because they will be cheaper. If you want me to buy one for you you need to give me ten euros.

Bye!

Easter Holidays

Hello, everybody!

I received four compositions through the  Internet till now: They are from Jão Ramalhinho, Margarida Perdigão, Margarida Pissarro and Inês Correia; all of them belong to 6th E. 6th E is ahead as usual.
Inês Correia, do you know that you and your mother played a traditional Bitish game? Yes, You are very British!

My Easter holidays were fantastic, and I woke up later every day.
In the first week, I went to the house of my grandparent’s and, I went picking rosemaries in the hill “Moinho de Frade” with my grandfather.  I went with my pink bike, which I love    , and I saw a slope.  My grandfather told me that he had already saw the motorcyclists go down it and I think that it’s striking.
On Sunday, when I went to Mass, the priest blessed the rosemary for my grandfather to put next to the seeds of potatoes, tomatoes, lettuces, cucumbers… - to give a good crop.
In the first week, I also went walking the dogs of my grandparents.  They are four and I take them all on the leash!  I helped my grandfather to water the plants of his vegetable and flower garden and I also went to the playground to play with my friends.
In the second week, I stayed at home, and on Monday and Thursday two friends came to my house to play with me.
Finally, on Saturday, I, my parents, my grandparents, my cousins and my uncle went to the countryside and ate the traditional lamb.  Then, I went to play with all my cousins and I received lots of chocolate eggs and chocolate almonds.

Margarida Pissarro

the first days of Easter Holidays I only played football, playstation, studied, watched TV
and went  to my grandparents. On the second week I cycled with my brother every day in
 the morning.
On Friday morning I qent with my grandmother to my aunt's. After lunch I and my cousin
played football. At five o'clock p.m we stoped playing football and we ate a sandwich. At
dinner time my grandmother called us. After dinner we saw TV. At ten o'clock p.m we went
to bed.
On Saturday morning we woke up  at nine o'clock a.m. . After breakfast we played football in
his yard and we played with his dog. At half past one we had lunch. After lunch we played
with my aunt's dog. Then we cycled on the street. Then we played playstation. At quarter to
nine we had dinner. After dinner we played playstation again. At ten o'clock we went to bed
and we saw TV. On Sunday morning we woke up at eleven o'clock and we had breakfast.
Then we saw TV until lunch time. After lunch we played football. Afterwards we had dinner.
After dinner we saw TV. At half past ten we went to bed. On Monday morning we woke up at
nine o clock a.m. . Then we had breakfast and we went fishing. I cought a very big fish and
my cousin a little fish. We made a fire and grilled some meat. On the afternoon we went to
my aunt's again. Afterwards we came back to Évora.
This Easter Holidays were GREAT!!

João Ramalhinho

I spend my Easter Holidays at home but I went out to Lisbon and to Mora.
In Lisbon, I visited my father´s cousins. Alexandra is thirty-one and she is psychologist. She works with deficient people. I think that is a hard work. Anyway, it´s important because there are people in our society who need help. Helena is thirty-three and she is an engineer. She makes lots of projects and she sometimes does those out of her entreprise like in the airport, in the England or in United States of America. She travells very much.
I visited the "Fluviário de Mora" with my family and it was an interesting walk to see the nature in the water with those little and big fish. i liked the "lontras". They are very nice.
Well, I read two stories in english and another two in portuguese. i played with my sister, my friends and my cousins. I slept later in the morning, I rode a bike, I swam and i did my homework.
To celabrate Easter, I ate roast male lamb with potatoes and salad, at my grandmother´s house and, of course, chocolate eggs.
There were nice days, relaxing!

Margarida Perdigão

Easter is celebrated on March or April and is the annual party.
On Easter Sunday, Christians celebrate the resurrection of the Jesus Christ.
This year, Easter was celebrated on 12th of April.
I spent my Easter holidays at home because on the first week I was ill.
On the second week I played with my friend and I ridded a bike with my mother every days on the morning.
On Easter holidays I swam very much because on 24th, 25th and 26th of April I go to the National Championship of Synchronized Swimming in “Condeixa-a-Nova”. Synchronized swimming is a sport in wich swimmers performs coordinated movements in time to music in the manner of a dance.
On Easter Sunday I ate roast male lamb with potatoes, with my family.
My family gave me some chocolate Easter eggs. My mother hid them in the house and I look for them. It was a funny game.
I loved my Easter holidays

Christmas Story, A call for the baby, Coraline, Little Ida's flowers,

Hello!

Catarina Arvanas, I'm so sorry but yesterday I wasn't able to connect myself to Internet and so it was impossible for me to give you my congratulations for your birthday. How was your party? Did you get many presents? See you on Monday.

Today I want to give you de oportunity to read another summary of two stories read by Margarida Mendonça (6th E). She liked "A call for the baby" best. Thank you, Margarida. Catarina Arvanas also read one story: "Caroline". You can read the summary after reading Margarida Mendonça's. Afterwards read Catarina's, (she wrote about the book "Little Ida's Flowers", by Hans Christian Andersen) the only student from 6th C, who read a book! Thank you, very much.
By the way... what about the other kids from 6th C? You dind't read anything yet! Are you sleeping? Shame on you, lazy students! The only thing that makes me confindent is that I know that Miguel Godinho (what's happening to the other boys? Boys, show yourselves! Forget the ball and the computer games and read a book!) is reading a book with many stories.

Christmas Story

It was two weeks before Christmas, and Mrs Smith was very busy. She bought a lot of Christmas cards
to send to her friends.
When her husband came back house she asked him to write the cards. But she was angry because her
husband didn't want to do that. Then her husband came back with a box full of Christmas cards from last
year because he forgot to post them.

Margarida Mendonça

A call for the baby

One day Mrs Jones was waiting for an important telephone call. But she had no bread in the house.
She decided to go to go to the Baker's. She had a baby and a son of five years-old.
When she was out the telephone rang and it was Mr Baker. Jimmy answered for his mother. He sad
his mother wasn't there. Mr Baker asked him that when she cames back to say  her that he had phoned.
The little boy didn't understand. Mr Baker asked him to write B-A-K-E-R. But the little boy didn't know how to
write it. So Mr Baker asked Jimmy if if there was somebody else with him. Then Jimmy gave the phone to the baby.
When his mother came back, she asked if anyone had phoned. He said Yes, a man phoned but he only
wanted to talk with the baby.

Margarida Mendonça

Coraline
Coraline is a very curious girl, but many people mistaked her name and called her "Caroline".
She and her family moved to a new and big house. When she explored her new home she
discovered a secret door for one house where it was all different.
It was very alike with her real life but still better.
But when her false mother tried to arrest her forever, Coraline needed the help of her neighbours
and one black cat told her he could to save her true parents and some children-ghosts could
come back to her house.
This book is very fun and entertaining!

Good-bye.
Catarina Arvanas

Little Ida's Flowers

Is a story for children to explain the cycle life of flowers, but in a funny way.
It's a beautiful
story where the flowers went to a ball in the king's castle!!!
If you haven't read it yet, please do it! It's very, very nice!!!

Catarina

Archie's Sweet Shop

Hi, there!

Today I have the great pleasure to publish another text about a story called "Archie's Sweet Shop". It was read by Margarida Perdigão (6th E). She also read "Baby Robot", but she prefers the first one. Thank you very much, Margarida. I adore you!

And she decided to share a visit she made to "Fluviário of Mora". This is what she wrote:

"I went to visit the " Fluviário de Mora" with my family, last Saturday. We saw lots of fish and the big aquarium of the "lontras".
There were a lot of fresh water species  living in the national rivers. We observed diferent kinds of habitats and I understood that some species need the Man to continue to exist.
I liked to see the nature that is wonderful in the aquatic environment! Good-bye!"

By the way, I've been once at "Fluviário". It's worth to be visited. Everybody should visit it.

An now the text:

Archie´s Sweet Shop

The Brown´s family has two sons: Richard is seventeen and Archie is nine.
Their parents went out in the morning and they came back at six o´clock.
Richard is working on his motorbike and his brother wants to help him.
But Richard ordered him to read a book.
Well, he chose a very interesting book: "How to make sweets?". What did you do? He had a good ideia. He took the coins and...he went to buy chocolate, sugar, apples, butter and eggs. Now, he can make some sweets. He made chocolate balls, toffie, lolipops and toffie apples. He was very happy! Then, he decided to sell them...in a sweet shop, in his garden.
He painted a sign "Want to eat? Come and buy a sweet in Archie´s shop". People saw that and they bought his sweets and they ate them in the garden.
Afther that, Richard stopped working. He went into the house, into the kitchen but he didn´t see Archie. When Archie was counting his coins. Richard was surprised!
Now, it´s time to clean the kitchen because their parents are coming. Ah! He forgot the sign on the gate and he ran to take it. Their parents arrived very satisfied and they ate tea. His mother saw the sign in the dustbin. They alllooked at it and they laughed.
Archie is very skilful and it was a funny afternoon.

The Little Mermaid

Hi, guys!

How are you doing? And what are you doing? Relaxing? Reading some short stories? Yes? Great! Don't forget to send me your comments about the stories you finish reading.
This time I'm publishing a summary about the story "The little Mermaid" read by Inês Correia. Thank you, Inês!

The little mermaid is a love story.
The little mermaid lives with her father and her five sisters. She is the youngest and her name is Titania.
She wanted to go to the land of the grandmother’s stories.
When she reached sixteen years old, she went to the land.
There Titania saw a handsome prince. She loved him straight away. One day there was a storm and the prince fell into the ocean and Titania saved him.
She went to the old witch because Titania wanted to turn in human.
The old witch turned she in but she had for a condition, the Titania’s voice.
Titania found the prince, but she couldn’t speak and one day he brought a new princess home.
Titania cried alone and she went to the beach. She jumped into the water but the little fairies who can fly took her away into the sky.
She didn’t die, the mermaid lives, up in the sky!

At the baker's

Hi, folks!

I have the great pleasure to publish the dialogue about shopping,  written by Margarida Pissarro and her group.

AT  THE BAKER'S

In a sunny day Mrs. Parker goes to the baker's.
Baker: Hi!
Mrs. Parker: Hi! Good morning! I come to get the package that I ordered yesterday.
(The baker picks up the package.)
Baker: Here you are your package. What else do you want?
Mrs. Parker: I'd like two croissants and one corn bread of one kilogram.
Baker: It's just a moment, I'll come soon.
(He goes inside and comes back with the order.)
Baker: Here you are! Anything else?
Mrs. Parker: Yes, I'd like two packets of biscuits and one roll. Can you tell me the price, please?
Baker: They cost twenty pounds and fifteen pence.
Mrs. Parker: (counting the money) Nineteen pounds ... twenty pounds ... twenty pounds and ten pence ... twenty pounds and fifteen pence. Here you are the money!
Baker: Good bye, I see you tomorow!
Mrs. Parker: Bye!

Margarida Perdigão and Inês Rolão, thank you very much for your comments. Did you tell the truth, or was it a lie? You know, today is April Fools Day (Dia das Mentiras). This is my trick on you: "Your marks are very low. You only have got 2 at all the subjects , but you have got 5 at Physical Education!"
